Through the NIH/SEPA HSTA funds, there are yearly teleconference events available to all HSTA students. The HSTA Teleconferences are an opportunity for high school students across West Virginia to hear prominent speakers discussing state-of-the-art biomedical research. Often the topics reveal information that most high school students don't get exposed to.
These events are usually broadcast from West Virginia University (WVU)in Morgantown and available at remote locations across the state of West Virginia.
Towards the end of each Teleconference event, there is an opportunity for students to interact with other students at remote sites (students rave about this aspect - its' like a visual Instant Messenger!).
