Science Background
View a concept map that shows the science underlying this lesson. If you have Inspiration software, you can download and view the map AND text information embedded in the map.
Overview
This activity is used at the introduction of the weather unit. It is intended as a quick review of the water cycle and to provide additional information that the students may not have previously covered.
Time Required
1 class period
Materials:
Beading cord elastic cut to fit each students wrist
6 x 9 mm pony beads: yellow, clear, white, blue, black, brown, green, tan
Activity:
Students make a water cycle bracelet using each colored bead to represent a phase in the water cycle. The bracelet is to be used to help the students remember what occurs in each stage.
Follow up activities:
Students construct their own concept map of the water cycle, determine and chart daily the dew point temperature and relative humidity, and form a cloud in a bottle with and without condensation nuclei. Return to Lessons and Modules
