Course Purpose: To provide professional development towards motivating a diverse student population in science. Diversity from a HSTA perspective includes socioeconomic status, ethnicity and gender. Teachers will be provided a text and related articles on the topic of diversity in the classroom. They will be asked to reflect on their own learning and teaching. Support will be given to teachers for implementing strategies that will provide equitable opportunities for their students to learn.
