Support: Field Site Coordinator

"Their job is to make your job easier."

Each county has a Field Site Coordinator (FSC) and some have a secretary, both of who's main role is to provide support and to act as a liaison between the HSTA offices, the local governing board, and teacher. By doing this, the FSC's help to coordinate and assist with much of the HSTA club and community program activities. During the school year, the FSC can help find health experts as quest speakers that focus on areas of interest to the students. The FSC can facilitate shadowing, career exploration, and out-reach into the community. Many clubs opt to organize an annual field trip, and the FSC takes care of these details. All purchasing of materials for clubs, once approved by the LGB, is handled by the FSC. In addition, the FSC maintains contact with the local board and parents on student recruitment, probation, handles all promotional materials and media announcements, and turns in monthly reports for review by project director.

  • Monthly reports (APPENDIX A): Teachers are responsible for keeping attendance records of each club meeting and what activities occurred, as well as all community service hours and other community contacts. This report must be turned in each month to the FSC who then distributes it to the LGB for approval and submits it with the FSC monthly report.
