Types of and Approvals for Projects

Students may do a research or a community service project as their "HSTA Project," which they present at the HSTA Symposium. The HSTA teacher always needs to discuss with the students the feasibility of the research and supervise the research. In some cases, a WVU faculty person with expertise in the research topic also is a supervisor. Small group projects where students collaborate (as opposed to going solo) generally are preferred. Types of projects and any advance approval are described below.
