Teacher/Student Ratio
	10 students to 1 teacher is the recommended ratio. Often teachers pair up, and occasionally teachers join in groups of 4. Due to attrition and recruitment of new students, this ratio can vary. Field Site Coordinators (FSC) and teachers work together to recruit HSTA students. Once a completed application is submitted to the FSC, the Local Governing Board (LGB) determines entrance into HSTA based on the criteria policy. The student criteria policy is as follows: 1st priority - African-American 2nd priority - financially disadvantaged 3rd priority - first generation to attend college 4th priority - rural environment
