Purpose:

In this activity, students begin to examine in-depth, the importance of UV levels in maintaining a balance for life on Earth. Students investigate this by requesting information from outside agencies with the question, 'Are the ambient levels of UV rays a threat?' Students may also come up with their own appropriate questions. The teacher should preview all letters before sending them out. The responses the students get back will help them to make informed decisions and take appropriate actions in the last lesson of this module (Action on UV Rays).
