CAPITAL HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Capital High HSTA club annually visits a local nursing home during the holiday season bringing the residents gifts that were made by the HSTA club. This year, the club journeyed to Meadow Brooke Nursing Home in Charleston on December 18th. The club had spent two meetings preparing the gifts that were to be delivered to the residents. The students decided that they wanted to make "Paper Angels", made out brown bags(as the body), and doilies to make the angel wings. The residents enjoyed seeing the cheerful faces of the club members as they talked with them and showed them their gifts. The students seemed to also enjoy the time that was spent in fellowship with the residents. The trip was a success and we are anticipating a possible return trip to Meadow Brooke Nursing Home next year during the holiday season.
